The project
Doomography is the definitive directory of doom, stoner and fuzz bands from the Nordic underground — Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland and the Faroe Islands.
It exists because great Nordic heavy music is too often undiscoverable. No algorithm surfaces it correctly. No streaming platform covers it comprehensively. No directory takes it seriously enough to document the physical formats, the label history, the catalogue numbers that matter to the people who actually collect this music.
We do. Every band catalogued by people who know the genre. Every release documented with formats, purchase links, and where to find it.
Doomography is curated by people from within the Nordic doom and stoner scene — not journalists, not algorithms. Everyone involved plays in bands, runs labels, or has been collecting this music for decades.
Every submission is reviewed by a human before going live. We listen to the music. We check the details. We care about getting it right.
Bands based in Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland or the Faroe Islands playing doom, stoner, fuzz, sludge, psych, drone, folk metal or related genres. Inactive and defunct bands are welcome — the history of the scene matters as much as what's happening now.
Every release type is covered: albums, EPs, singles, demos, splits and compilations. Where possible we document every physical format — vinyl variants with their own artwork and catalogue numbers, cassettes, CD editions — and link directly to where you can buy them.
Use the submit form. Paste your Bandcamp or Spotify URL and we'll auto-fill what we can from your profile. You review the data, correct anything wrong, and submit. Most submissions are reviewed and live within 48 hours.
If your band is already in the directory and something is wrong or out of date, use the same form and note the correction in the comments field.
Upcoming shows from bands in the directory are listed on the Shows page. Shows are added manually or pulled automatically from Bandsintown where bands have profiles. If a show is missing, contact us.
